Chicago Title Company Lawsuit

The Law Offices of Zilinskas & Woosley filed suit against Chicago Title Company on behalf of the purchasers of a 1000 acre ranch. It is alleged that Chicago Title missed an easement running across the buyers property and refused to adequately compensate the buyers for the loss in value of their property due to the missed easement. This type of lawsuit is known as insurance bad faith since an insurance company (in this case a title insurance company) has a duty to investigate claims and compensate its insureds for the value of the loss.

Moreover, it is alleged that Chicago Title intentionally obtained an artificially low appraisal to reduce the amount it owned to its insureds and, discovery has revealed that this is part of a pattern of practice enaged in by Chicago Title. If proven, this will subject Chicago Title to punitive damages.

If you have a title insurance claim, or believe that your title insurance company is refusing to adequately compensate you for a claim, you should immediately contact an attorney. www.zwlegal.com

I live in Ct and purchased my property in 1994 and have Chicago Title Ins Co. I had neighbors make a claim of an easement running right past the front of my home soon after moving in. I had to fight Chicago to represent me, as they did not want any part of this lawsuit.
I later got them to represent me (after many months of fighting them) and lost the lawsuit as they did not want to pay for an appropriate survey and lost much value to my property. There appraisal came in a lot lower than should of been. They did not protect me as the Judge did not instill any dimensions to this easement or maintenance agreement.
I am now going through the same thing on the opposite side of my property where my well sits. Chicago Title will not pay to protect me and I have had to sue them. I had my property dug up and an electric fence put up by these neighbors. They still will not pay and I had to loose the lawsuit against my neighbors, as I do not have funds to continually pay a lawyer. I cannot sell my property with this 'title cloud'.
